Former Providence Catholic standout Kris Honel pitched seven innings of one-hit, shutout ball for Class A Kannapolis on Thursday night, but got a no-decision.

Honel, the Sox's first-round pick (No. 16 overall) in the 2001 draft, is 9-5 with a 2.29 ERA for Kannapolis and leads the South Atlantic League in strikeouts with 137.

I expected him to get moved to Winston/Salem for the second half of the season, that didn't happen,so I think the game plan is to move him through the system at his pace.He has an outside chance of playing in Biringham next season.

like they are in his league (talent wise), i think not.

i really want him ready to play and not get hammered when he gets to the majors. so take your time.

No,that has nothing to do with it,he is only 19 years old and has to develop some stamina and prescense.Do you have any idea what it takes to develop a big league pitcher?

The talent part is right,as is the pitching coach, the GM has nothing to do with it.

i was going more of an angle of the talent is there. the pitching coach does help and at the major level we now have coop. ahhh but the gm, if he doesn't have his head up his butt, which kw, does, he would know how good the player can be.

sometime i am too funny for myself> author the movie :gulp:

KW drafted him,and built a top rated minor league system,so I still don't see your point.
