That's 14 errors for the season, 7 errors in the last 14 games. :o:

Casper Wells threw an inning of shutout baseball. He hits like a pitcher, so maybe he's found his calling?

How does a team lose, when they have a 5 run lead in the first????

By giving up those same 5 runs in the top of the second and then 6 more in the 4th and 3 more in the 5th then just for giggles giving up another 5 runs the rest of the way.

Basically we got Omogrossoed...

Unfortunately, Ventura felt the need to add that Viciedo probably wasn't going to play anyway. So, when given a chance to finally take a stand against buffoonery, Ventura backed off. Personally, I think he's lost the team.

Most embarrassing team in baseball. It's one thing to be the Marlins/Astros and completely tank a season for money reasons, but we actually went for it. :whiteflag::anon:

As this team loses heart, the ERAs will inflate and the value will deflate. Get a move-on Hahn and start negotiating.

Sox score 5 in the first, the Sox give 5 right back in the top of the 2nd. Sox score 10 runs. Give up 19 runs. Sox pitcher strikes out 14, losses game. And it goes on and on.

The Sox are the ultimate buzz kill team.

I just couldn't take it anymore, so I went to see World War Z with my daughter, and had an enjoyable time.

What a mess this team is.

Just listened to Robin. When asked if Viciedo will play the second game, he said; "probably not."

Figures, Viciedo was my pick to click. :D: Sounds like he was a train wreck in the first game; I'll have to see if I DVR'd the game.

Edit: Or maybe Alexei was the bigger train wreck. What the heck is with him and the errors?

I just got home and couldn't convince myself to stay for game 2. Glad I did seeing as it's 4-0 Cleveland already. We did the Hawks parade this morning and I'll be back at the park tomorrow for the Pierce statue so skipping the nightcap was an easy choice.

Alexei Ramirez makes an error? Sounds about right.

Stone was talking earlier about the Yankees in need of a 1B with Texeira down for the season. He mentioned that they might want a lefty bat with power to take advantage of the short fence, and they have the cash to spend. Wonder whom he was alluding to?

What's Ventura doing - taking a nap with Baines on the bench? He just leaves these relievers in to get slaughtered. Yank Reed when he doesn't have it before it gets completely out of hand.
Let's get a real manager in here next year please.

Twins doubleheader in 2007 was worse, two separate entries with a break in between and the Sox weren't even remotely in either game.

At least we blew these two games instead of being completely outclassed, so that's something. And at least we'll hopefully never see Omagrosso in a Sox uniform again.

I'm considering adopting another team to follow this season. Not that I won't continue to follow and root for the Sox, but I'm going to need something else to get through this. Maybe the Pirates. I like talking in a Pirates's voice. Aaargh! That's something. Isn't it?

At least for the moment munch is right. They are the worst team in baseball. They need to go 40-45 to equal the win total of 2007. Do you really think they're going to do that? I deluded myself when they were at .500, thinking maybe they could be as good as last year. The joke is on me. I'm not laughing.

Our trade deadline fire sale will be the ultimate indictment of the last 5 years of the KW GM era-

If we trade Alexei- Beckham is our new SS, or Angel Sanchez
If we trade PK- Dunn is 1B, Viciedo to DH, and Wells/Danks/De Aza is our LF
If we trade Rios- I'm not sure who plays RF- Wells?
Unless they are major league ready "now" prospects- we could be giving the "legendary" 1970 White Sox a run for their money.
June 28, 1970 27-47
June 29, 2013 32-45

We're 3.5 up on the 1970 team with 3 months to go-the 1970 White Sox were 9-19 in June, 2013 team is 8-17- so it's neck and neck-

A trip to the bench followed by a possible demotion to the minor leagues may be the fate of Chicago White Sox [/URL] outfielder Dayan Viciedo.

I think they should fire the players.

Which players should the Sox just fire? Who will replace them - the stiffs we have at Charlotte? We should fire the people in management who got us these players.

...but that's not going to happen. There's no accountability in this organization. Maybe there's some other loyal former 80s/90s player we can hire to rearrange the deck chairs.

Brian26
06-29-2013, 10:30 AM
I am wondering how many times we are going to see DeAza and Viciedo forget how many outs there are in the outfield. I have seen this at least three times in the past two weeks where they start running in when there are only two outs or they make the final out of an inning and throw the ball back in like there are still two outs. The DeAza one last night was embarrassing.

Jose Valentin was fun bad though.

Valentin- at least you knew what you were getting with Manos, and the dude played the game the right way. His mistakes were generally physical, not mental. His big game winning hits made up for the times he threw the ball 18 feet over Konerko's head at first. I'd take a guy like Manos back in a second.:D:

Waking up to that loss, after the train wreck of the first game, was the nail in the coffin - I just laughed. I must be in the Acceptance phase.

If the Sox acquire some interesting players, or show signs of playing baseball like a major league team again, maybe I'll pay attention again. And I definitely won't be spending any money on game tickets.

I stayed until they were down 4-1 in the 2nd game. Looks like I didn't miss much. I'm not even using my ticket for today; I'll regroup and hit the sunday game tomorrow. Honestly, if Sox games weren't the only place I see a few of my friends, I'd be done for this season. Also, I know it was a long day for everyone, but nice touch not having the venders walk the aisles until 6 pm AND having some of the outfield stands closed. What a low-brow organization.

I agree. The Blackhawks Parade/Rally and Rush show (which included a visit by Lord Stanley's Cup) would have been a much better choice. :D:

I really despise Nick Swisher. I never liked him when he was with the SOX probably due to his father's history with the Cubs. Plus, he always carried himself as a superstar with his .250 career average while taking fastballs down the middle of the plate.

He gets a ring as a stop-gap solution for the Yankees and then scrores a huge deal with the Indians where his .234 average is proving money well spent.

Because blowing it up would mark a new beginning as opposed to further descent along the downward spiral. What's more depressing, a dementia riddled old man babbling incoherently or a baby babbling incoherently?
