WGN Radio reporting the Cubs have DFA'd Marmol.
The long nightmare has ended for my family and friends who root for the Cubs. As one of my friends who is a lifelong Cubs fan once described Marmol, "This bleeping guy bleeping sucks."

Amazing that it finally happened.

Coop could fix him (maybe).
Glad to see Bogie getting another shot.

While the rest of Chi was focused on #Blackhawks, the #Cubs DFA'd Carlos Marmol, released Ian Stewart

When something isn't working you have to make a change. I wish we would do the same thing with Dunn.

The strikeouts-plus-walks thing looks like something you see with Class A and Rookie League pitchers with big fastballs, pitchers averaging close to two strikeouts per inning while carrying ERAs of 8.
Marmol probably isn't that far from being unhittable. There have been games in his career when he was just that. Maybe he will never get back the difference between being unhittable and being that kid who get his strikeouts but can't get enough hitters to swing at balls out of the strike zone and miss pitches in the strike zone to hold leads or save games. But I'm sure other teams will be more than willing to give him another chance.

That's too bad. He's one of a long line of awful Cubs players throughout history that I loved having play for the Cubs. One of those guys who cost them games in hilarious fashion. You could almost always count on them to fail and be bad, and doom the Cubs, causing angst and frustration among "the world's greastest fans". One of my favorite Cubs players. He's up there with guys like Milton Bradley, Juan Cruz, Todd Hundley, just to name a few. Awesome theater, awesome entertainment. I will miss seeing him in those cute Cubby blue pinstripes coming into the game, and crapping the bed.

I hope Bogusevic does well now that he's been recalled.
He is after all, a De La Salle grad.:D:
While watching a Marmol Melt Down was highly entertaining, I give the Cubs credit for swallowing hard and cutting the cord.

Somebody will look at his "electric arm" (thanks Dan Plesac) and pick him up in a blink.
