Yay! A fun game to watch. It's been sooooo long...and off two pitchers who normally kill the Sox: Guthrie and Chen.

Just what Ol' Ricky needs to delay the fire sale by another couple days.

This was the first game all year that I paid absolutely no attention to - thought the score was a typo with it really being the other way around...I guess even a blind nut finds a squirrel every now and then.

Another great outing by Santiago. But he's just middle-relief fodder.
It would have been a good night to give the back of the bullpen some work - they need it. Santiago didn't need another 100+ pitches.

I fully expect the same score on opposite sides tomorrow.

So, let's see -- Viciedo hits a three-run homer of off Bruce Chen to salt away a Sox victory against Jeremy Guthrie. Yeah, that warrants bringing the tank out.

That was, indeed, a White Sox laugher! And there haven't been too many of those lately.

Does it irk anyone else that Viciedo and Dunn embrace in such an extravagant fashion when they meet at the plate after a homer, etc? I've not seen anything like that, as far as I can remember. You'd think they had just found the cure for cancer together. I'm all for team unity, but man, I wish they'd make it look like scoring runs wasn't such a completely insane thing to do. Who knows, maybe they'd score more runs if it were viewed at least as a semi-typical thing.

How dare they celebrate scoring runs! As a fan I demand no less than a scowl! Surely the problem with this team is that they celebrate when good things happen. In fact, Chris Sale should kick a puppy after each quality start.

I don't give a **** these games are meaningless now, nice to take Guthrie out back and smack him around a little bit

I was with you until the puppy kicking. And Chris Sale is not a concern.

Now these are going to be the fun games to watch. No illusions that they are contenders this year. If they win great and if they lose so be it. I just want to see what kind of moves they will make to improve the team in the years ahead. White Sox baseball you have to love it.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure he'll never have injury problems as long there is a permanent frown on his face. Next time he pumps his fist after a strikeout, or even cracks a smile, make him run sprints.

Don't forget (as much as you want to), losing three to the Cubs to start this turd stretch rolling downhill.

Before tonight, the Sox had scored two earned runs in 44.2 innings against Guthrie over the last two years. Tonight, they get six off him in 2.1 innings.

Maybe the law of averages finally caught up with ol' Catfish. He couldn't sustain that 0.40 ERA against the Sox forever.

I also enjoyed watching the game last night. It was fun to see the Sox play well and have fun. Kudos to Viciedo, Santiago, et al.

Keep on winning, White Sox! :bliss:

Yes. Exactly. It's not a game and it's not supposed to be fun. Let's win 15 straight in a completely business-like manner.

I was making fun of his earlier post.

Yikes. Looks like the humor was missed on both sides, then. I very much enjoy a consistent display of camaraderie and grindy-ness, but the way those two specifically embrace each time is weirdly somber. They appear to be the opposite of amped up, and instead look more sad and relieved than anything.

Nevertheless, it's obviously time to move on from this observation.

Yay, team!
