Cubs version of Gavin Floyd I guess. 9.5 million in both cases although for him it's for two years.

Are TJ surgeries as common in Japan? The guy goes and has an amazing 12+ year career in Japan and all it takes is a few months with MLB trainers for his UCL to give out?

MLB trainers? Let's get specific, Cub trainers. This is the team that ripped up Prior's body, Wood's body, etc. etc. They are the anti-Herm.

Tough luck for him. Wish him the best in the future.

No doubt but the prevalence of TJ surgeries has been increasing across MLB for some time now. You knew what I meant.

Enjoy:

Cubs manager Dale Sveum suggested that Carlos Marmol is unlikely to return to the closer role this season.

"I hope not," Sveum said when asked if he thought there's a scenario where Marmol could be the closer again.
