Sanchez gave up that hit to Mauer, but struck out the other 3 batters in the 9th.

Nice performance. :tiphat:

5th start of Sanchez's career in which he allowed 1 hit or less

Also the 3rd time Mauer has broken up a no-no in the 9th.

Sanchez would have become the 6th player in MLB history to have no-hitters in each league.

Four of them are Jim Bunning, Hideo Nomo, Randy Johnson, and Nolan Ryan. Is Kevin Millwood the fifth? He pitched a no-hitter for Philadephia, but later was part of a combinated no-hitter with Seattle.

Twinkees have lost 10 games in a row. Hope Circle Me Bert and Co. enjoy the view from last place.

I still can't figure out why Ozzie left Swisher in CF and BA on the bench for the 9th....

I had some doubts about the contract the Tigers handed to Sanchez, but man has he been awesome this season.

K's per 9 is up 4.3 from last year and he is on pace to give up the least amount of homers in his career.

Tigers 1-4 have been pretty spectacular.

Cy Young is the fifth.

Said that exact same thing when he broke it up last night. I have to imagine others did also.

Maybe if he had put Anderson in the game or if Swisher had made some incredible play, maybe if Anderson had been in the game and didn't make the catch, Guillen wouldn't have put Wise into the ninth inning of Mark Buehrle's perfect game. I'm not going to complain about the way things worked out in the scope of White Sox history.
