According to those statistics, the White Sox are the 9th most profitable team in MLB. Those same statistics claim the bad guys on the Northside of Chicago are the most profitable team in MLB. Does anybody really believe those numbers? I find it hard to believe that the Cubs are making more money than the Yankees, Red Sox and either LA team. Needless to say, anybody who thinks the White Sox are not making money in Chicago is misreading the situation. With the stadium and TV contracts the White Sox have, it does look like the White Sox are making some serious money in Chicago.

Tag days refer to collections for organizations that are in financial need.
The Sox are doing very well.

One sees attendance dropping every year and club value and profit increasing. It seems to be quite a gold mine. Actually it probably always has been.

We use that phrase for some of the old loaded geezers I play golf with. Surprised that Lip didn't get the meaning.

It might be true considering the Cubs attract 3M fans without paying the salaries required to win consistently like the Yankees do. When an organization's biggest assets are the ballpark and losing mystique, it's pretty easy to build a success business model.

Between this and actually seeing the Sox' annual return this is why I laugh whenever they cry poor.
