Insider article on AL schedules. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/blog/_/name/olney_buster/id/8977426/mlb-buster-olney-ranks-strength-american-league-schedules

With only 13 of their first 40 games against teams .500 or better last year, the White Sox have by far the easiest schedule to start the year (the Tigers were next easiest, and the Royals sport the most brutal schedule to start the year (26 of 39). We all know how important a good start to the year can be, but this year it appears to be even more important. A rough start to the season could be disastrous to our season, as the schedule is brutal in the second half.

Sounds like a perfect recipe for a repeat of 2012

Yep. The Sox always get hammered schedule-wise in the second half and the numbers have shown how they do the past 10 years in the back half because of it.

A lot of times bad teams have good Aprils and vice versa. All things being equal, I'd rather start off tough.

Me too. But maybe a good start gives this team a chance to add players and fill holes for the rougher second half schedule.
