Considering that my fiancee's favorite player is Paul Konerko, I get the feeling that I'm going to the May 11th game...:D:

How do you request Dog Day tickets? Is it for season ticket holders only?

Call the Sox and ask them to send you ticket information for Dog Day.
There is a document that needs to be completed and sent back to request tickets for the dog parade - the tickets go VERY fast.

Mullet Night is noticeable by its absence.

Edit: Crap. Never mind June 28th. The self mocking celebration of stereotypes continues.

Better off buying it for 10$ at a clubhouse sale.

The last two seasons they had replica statue days. They gave Thomas and Fisk statues. I was hoping they would have this giveaway every year of the other statues they have in the park.

I agree, those statues were a really nice giveaway. Also, why isn't there a Luke Appling statue on the concourse yet?

I really like that they're doing another Paul Konerko bobblehead. The last one was given away in 2002 or 2003 and the Paulie that's on my dresser is rather stout and it doesn't really look like him. The Sox must have their bobbleheads designed by another company now because the Konerko bobblehead that'll be given away this year looks a lot more like him.

This year's Mother's Day tote bag is also awesome!

I always love attending the free giveaway days since it makes me tailgate before the game (double benefit).

Actually I think it is the same company....Alexander Global Productions. At some point, they started creating the "in action" bobbleheads with the legs and skinny arms.

I actually like the bobbleheads from 2002-2003 because they were similar to the classic bobbleheads you sometimes see from the 1950s and 1960s.

That Konerko you mentioned was given away in 2003.

MLB/FOX ruined something good we had going forever, Saturday Night Firework nights. The team always drew well on Saturday nights compared to now Friday night Fireworks.

Speak for yourself, but Mullet Night is one of the best opportunities that most fans have to actually get onto the field.

I marched in the mullet parade in 2010, on one of my last days in Chicago before I moved 1,000 miles away. I only got to step on the warning track, of course, but it was well worth the $5 I spent on a mullet wig.

Agreed although there are plenty of 6:10pm Saturday games with no fireworks so it's not entirely Fox's fault unless the Sox don't want to commit to Saturday fireworks due to Fox being able to change the start time so easily. The promo schedule lists two Saturdays with post game fireworks. The 6:10pm start time with post game fireworks is perfect for families with little kids.

Certainly seems like they should. Probably because the average fan doesn't know much about him - he hasn't played in 63 years. Same could be said for Ted Lyons, Ray Schalk and Eddie Collins, all HOFERs but the priority appears to be 1950's players to recent years. Comiskey is there but obviously for different reasons.

Personally, I like the "newer" bobbleheads with the longer legs and skinnier arms. I'm not much for the classic bobbleheads from back in the day, but that's just my opinion.

I noticed the Ventura in a Mets uniform bobblehead you had in the picture you attached and I don't think that looks like him at all; I think the one the Sox gave away last season looks a lot more like him. How'd you score that bobblehead?

They just added a Billy Pierce replica statue June 29 and a Ron Kittle bobblehead Aug. 10.

Not sure yet about the Kittle doll, but I'll definitely pick up the Pierce statue.

Agreed - I much prefer the statues to the bobbleheads, I hope they produce a give away statue for all of the monuments at US Cellular Field.

The July 19 game against the Braves says "giveaway and fireworks" presented by Miller Lite. I wouldn't be shocked if that turned into another vendor doll, but I'd hope they'd come up with a better giveaway. How many different ways can you slightly alter a beer vendor doll?

The beer vendor bobblehead thing is beyond stale, but if they continue it, they should have the actual beer vendors compete in some sort of contest and model the bobblehead after the winner.

That is how they did it. In July, we voted for our favorite beer vendor via text voting during the game. The person who got the most votes was honored with being the bobblehead the next year. One of my buddies won it one year. They did not hold the contest last season, hence no beer vendor bobblehead this year.
