He'll be hitting the DL about the same time A-Roid will be coming off it.
However, thanks, Youk, for the spark you gave us in late June- August.

Thanks for the few, but fondly remembered memories, Youk.

Yes. He delivered about 2 inspiring weeks (when sox needed a jolt) but that was all she wrote, no more gas in the can. Over-rated, overpaid, ex-Boston, but a nice guy and even got a shout out from Obama, who thanked Boston pubicly for the "gift". Something tells me White Sox will actually find needle in haystack for 3rd base, will find a guy with Crede hands, Melton bat, and Ventura clutch. Just a hunch.

Thanks for the help while he was in town but clearly he wasn't any type of a long term answer...not with his health.

Thanks for providing stability at 3B and for winning a handful of games for us before the knee injury kind of took over.

with all these players signing on with the yanks is it possible that Ichiro not sign with the bronx bombers or has he signed

Youk sounds like Yank. Be interesting to see the Red Sox fan response at Fenway. They worshipped him in Boston.

Thanks for the jump start burst of energy for the first month or so before you reverted to the mean for the rest of the year, Youk. I don't think you were ever part of the long term plan, but you gave us hope.
And who else but the Yankees would spend $12M on a 3 month lease / insurance policy?

He was better than I thought he'd be. For two weeks. Carried the team. And a better guy than I thought. But his body is broken down. $12M? Gasp.

What's funny is that NYYfans and SOSH are saying pretty much the identical things. Good threads if you have 15min to kill

Thanks for the 3 great weeks.
Youk was the catalyst during the best 3-4 week stretch of last season. I'm glad we got him as he was a significant upgrade over Morel and Hudson and only cost us Lillibridge and Zach Stewart. It was fun for me to watch him grind out at bats and he seems like a good guy.

You provided slightly more value than what the Sox gave up, which was almost nothing. Best of luck.

Yep, I'll sure miss his plate discipline, considering the rest of the hackers we have here.

Thanks for temporarily relieving us of the third baseman hell we were in.
Youk had/has the range of the statue at 3B; his 'ole' slide got old fast. Thankfully we don't play the Yankees the first half of the season, because the madness that would've ensued due to the team not bunting - nor trying to bunt - would've been painful (again).

I think we have a better solution at a much better price.
Yankees were desperate, but $12 million for Youk is way too much, considering his falling average, bad knee, limited range.

Enjoy April and May while you're good/not hurt, but bring an umbrella starting in June when the Bleacher Creatures start raining **** on you.

He'll be traded or bench fodder by then, with ARod back.

I was hoping there was a way we could have made things work, but I can't blame you for taking the Yankees money. Thank for a good run here where you made things exciting. Beat the Tigers for us!
