Yeah, you shouldn't. Guy supposedly has a good glove but...wow, dat offensive badness.

3B market is really damned bare this year.

He seemed to always get that clutch hit against us, though.

An older version of Brent Morel?

My thoughts exactly.

Wouldn't be a bad move for the bench, but there's no way he should be starting.

I also saw that Sox had interest in Jeff Keppinger....I'd be more for that. He can play all IF positions and fill in admirably at 3B.

Hannahan bats lefty so my fear is that the Sox might be thinking platoon partner with Morel. This would be a platoon that would feature all defense with no offense. I hope this is not the case. You just can't get away with no offensive power production from 3B in the AL.

Sox are rumored to be in on Jeff Keppinger too. Keppinger/Hannahan would be a good platoon, and maybe Keppinger would light a fire under Beckham, since 2B is his natural position and he's tons more versatile with the bat.

Hannahan also had a bad back last year so the comparisons with Morel are accurate.

I don't think you can put Flowers at C, a Hannahan/Morel platoon at 3B and Beckham at 2B and expect to contend for anything. That's too many holes in a lineup, too much pressure on the other six guys to produce every day.

Damn, I was hoping that the person who made this thread had forgotten an "r" in the player's name. Nope. :(:

Sounds like the Sox are still in on Hannahan after the Keppinger signing.

Getting close to a "called it".
