Ages ago when I was passed over for the general manager's son, I was ticked off about it. I complained about it to my dad. In a rare moment of "Father Knows Best" insight from my dad he told me I'd have to work hard and get over it. He said, "That's just the way it goes. It may hurt, but people take care of their family. If you were in the same position (as the GM) you'd do the same thing..."

So, goodbye KWJr. Best wishes.

At least he was traded for another nepotism pick.

I expect that KWJr will be demoted and soon thereafter released.

Hahn is an ass.

Do you really think Hahn traded him without the approval of his boss, KW?

Here is how I imagine the conversation and approval went...

**********
RH: Kenny, just wanted to let you know that we've traded your son to the D-Backs.

KW: Ok
**********

IMHO I don't see Hahn having to run trade decisions by KW, even this one regarding Kenny's son. No doubt by Hahn trading KWJr it spares KW the embarrassment of having his son released by the Sox.

KW probably wanted to trade him earlier, but didn't want to incur his wife's wrath. Now he can tell her, "Rick did it."

Edit again before you get an "ahhh, my eyes!" response.

Nevermind, I think I just provided that response.

Does Hahn have any children or nephews that play baseball?

Something tells me he probably did this to help the kid. He had no future with Sox so he might have a better possibility there, who knows.

Definately did it to help Jr. as he was behind Hawkins, Walker, Thompson, and Mitchell with the Sox.
