What are his views on Castro?

Can't wait until Loria fires him after 2 seasons and has 3 managers on his payroll in 2015.

When Redmond was with the Twins, he was Nick Punto before Nick Punto was Nick Punto. Killed the Sox. He's supposed to be quite the character -- advocated taking naked batting practice to bust out of a slump.

I remember a game here at the Cell where Thome's backswing nicked him on the head and he was bleeding out of his head, stopped the game for a while.

He also owned Beuhrle if I'm not mistaken. Now he'll be his manager. I wonder if he has any insight as to why he was able to light him up.

Yeah he went 16-37 off Buehrle, 21-48 off Tom Glavine and 13-26 off CC Sabathia.

I was at that game. Because Mauer was the DH, the Twins' pitcher had to bat in the game (the incident took place in the First Inning, so we're talking 8 innings without a DH).

Since it was 2007, the Twins had no trouble beating the Sox that day despite not having a DH.

This is why I never advocated having AJ be the DH except in September when there was a real Catcher (Sept. call-up) on the bench in case of an injury to Flowers. During the other parts of the season, the "emergency" backup Catcher was usually someone who last played the position in the 1990's.

I think I went to this game with you! Was it part of a straight doubleheader and Gavin Floyd's White Sox debut?

Good memory (yours, not the game).

I love having the Marlins around. Wow are they a ridiculous organization.

I think Redmond is a better choice than what's circulating in the coaching carousel

He's the anti-Ozzie in terms of PR. He's a safe, fan-favorite that will help put butts in the seats of their sparkling new ballpark. The Castro comments reached deeper than they were willing to admit. They were digging out of that mess early and the only way the situation was going to improve was if they won games. That didn't happen so the bullseye on Ozzie grew larger and larger.
