An actual top prospect for a player we were dumping.

I beat on the bad ones, so I'll hail the good ones. And this was a good one.

I agree with you on this one........ we weren't getting anywhere with him and he was going to walk at the end of the season. So he not only signed him cheap, but he got two minor leaguers and Kenny ate some of the incentive money in order to go to a pennant race in San Francisco.

Felix Diaz....... 3-5 with a 2.70 in 12 starts in AA at Shreveport.

Ryan Meaux....4-3 in 41 games with 16 saves and a 2.68 ERA in A ball at Hagerstown.

The Durham trade was a bust, we got a 25 year old AAA pitcher who has only one pitch a fastball. He admits he only has hard stuff and is trying to learn some soft stuff. He had Tommy John surgery 4 seasons ago........ and I personally don't think he will ever see the major leagues except by watching it on tv.

This was a good trade. I thought it was a mistake to sign Lofton in the off-season because he is injury prone, but that move also turned out to be good because we got some good pitching prospects for him. This trade raises my confidence in KW to very little, up from none.
