According to Gonzo at the Tribune web site.

He should have been waived in August but better late than never.

Oh no! Not Olmedo!

Seriously though, I hope he enjoyed his time w/us because I really doubt he'll ever play in the majors again.

I applaud KW for going all out with the Liriano trade, but in retrospect I think the Twins won that one. Not having to see either Liriano or Olmedo would have been terrific.

Still, you have to roll the dice. It was a good gamble.

That strike out was one of the worst I have ever seen. I hope he doesn't come back like Wise did.

Eh, the gamble was still worth it. At best Escobar is a utility IF.

Wise came back pretty good for us.

No loss. Hope he takes Hudson, Humber, and Wise with him.

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Hey, I was at a game in August where Olmedo made two spectacular plays at second base. I think he also had an RBI.

Not everyone can be Bill Mazeroski. Not everyone can even be Gordon Beckham.

Olmedo was the one Sox player this year that made me want to throw something at the screen.

I wish him well elsewhere.

Olmedo had the potential to be the next Andy Gonzalez.

Olmedo sucked and proved that there was a reason why he hadn't played in the bigs for years, but lets not get too carried away here by comparing him to A. Gonzalez.

The existence of Rey Olmedo made me wonder if it wouldn't be better to just activate Robin in a reserve infielder role. He couldn't have been worse.

Is this it? The entire bench except for Flowers should have been jettisoned by now.
Maybe most of their contracts just naturally expire and don't need to be formally waived.

Still early in the off season process.

Youkilis' new baby cost Olmeda his job. He was exposed against KC as the worst player in MLB.
