View Full Version : Sox wall calendar goof

On the October page of the White Sox wall calendar given away back in April, the theme is "October Memories." The center picture is the celebration after winning the Blackout game in 2008, and it's buffered by four inset pictures: One from 1993, one from 2005, one from 2008... and one from 2001.

It's hard to tell whether the photo is actually from 2001 or if it's a 2000 picture that's simply mislabeled (it's just a postgame high-five line). But that's a pretty bad error.

Ha, I noticed this the other day as well.

Although the Sox did play more October games in 2001 (6) than in 2000 (4), 2008 (4), and as many as in 1983.

Their inattention to detail has infuriated me for years. Last week I went to the ladies room and there was a sign promoting Hispanic Heritage Night, proudly trumpeting the opponent as being.....Kansas City (instead of Tampa). I've seen misspelling and inaccuracies on the scoreboard, and in past years there was a trivia game in the club section that had two answers totally wrong - for several years!
Doesn't anyone fact-check or proofread? Makes us look amateurish.
