Are You Watching The Game Tonight?

Unfortunately, I have tickets tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday.

Yay! (?)

I'll be flipping between the game and the football game.

I'm with you. I have tickets all weekend. I've already given Saturday's away, but tonight and Sunday I will be there. Tomorrow... I'm playing that by ear.

Tonight and Sunday may be the last two games I actually watch depending on how the next 48 hours go.

Of course. It's still White Sox baseball, and the long, cold winter without it is approaching.

I won't be, but that's really because I'm busy tonight doing other things and I live in Michigan so I don't get it.

The only televised game left for me this year is Sunday one if the rumor that it's on TBS is true.

Ye I will, in between packing I'll have it on. I know what will happen but whatever. My team, I live and die with them.

Definitely watching. To me, a baseball season is like reading a really long book. Sometimes you don't like the ending, but that doesn't mean you quit reading till it's done.

Probably flip back and forth.

I'll follow it and pay attention, but i'm so furious with the Sox right now that I won't have the patience to actually sit there and watch the whole thing.

Probably will be just like yesterday - I'll watch until it's obvious that the Sox are still struggling and sputtering. Hopefully, that doesn't happen and I watch the entire game.

Flipping back and forth between the game and "The X Factor" .

If you watched them the first 155 games, what's the point of bailing now?

To watch a meaningless NFL game?

I'm generally considered a dark cloud, but of course I am. The Sox are 1 1/2 games out in September. The season is not over.

There probably isn't a point. But it's been a grind of a season and I'm worn out (I can't imagine what the players feel like). I'll likely DVR it and then rip through the game at a high rate of speed. For some reason, that's easier to take than actually hanging on every pitch, listening to Hawk's sad voice, and getting a good look at the thousands of empty seats.

Why would I stop now? I mean there's 7 games left and they are one game out of first? I'm going to be multitasking while watching the game, it won't be the only thing I'm doing, but it will none the less be on my laptop and I will follow the action.

Edit: Whoops, 1.5 out forgot the Kittens had already played.

Yep. I'll flip to other games as well.

I'll be at the Cell on Saturday and Sunday. Already prepared for the fact that my ALDS Game 2 tickets may go unused...but there will be four postseason games on TV that Sunday regardless, and I have the following day off.

I'm really excited for October baseball, with or without the Sox.

That's the spirit. No one can call themselves a die-hard unless they actually die hard with their team. That's why the term is coined that way.

And boy, have the deaths been pretty hard every time, except 2008, which didn't really hurt, tbh.

It makes all those moments all the sweeter. Who knows maybe Yankees fans have it bad having to constantly win all the time.

I'm only joking, but I don't know if they ever felt pure bliss like we have in 2005. Or the next time it happens ( hopefully in our lifetimes).

TomBradley72

I will.

Last night was the ultimate in frustration- they we up 3-1 when I pulled into my driveway after work- by the time I'm in the house- Indians are on base from walks, etc- and soon it's 3-3. So I change the channel in frustration- then I flip back they're up 4-3- but almost immediately- more walks- and its 4-4. Next time I flip back- HR by Indians.

But- in 40 years of following the team- this is the closest we've been to 1st place on Sept 27th (excluding 1983, 1993, 2000, 2005), I think we're closer at this point then we were in 2008- and I don't really blam the guys- I think they are just out of gas.

My wife is throwing me a birthday bash in the bleachers tomorrow night- so it would be great to head to the game tomorrow with a shot at regaining a tie with the Tigers-

I will ALWAYS choose September baseball over the NFL- every time.

The Sox have lost 7 of 8 while scoring less than 3 runs per game and Peavy hasn't beaten a team that isn't the Twins since July 6. No. **** no.

I usually watch to the very end of season for different reasons. This year I will watch unless they are mathematically out of it.

Max Power
09-27-2012, 06:29 PM
I'll probably gamecast it, but I doubt I'll bother putting it on the TV. It's easier to handle the Sox ineptness when it's in the form of computer animations.

I watch every inning of every game unless my GD annoying health problems keep me from doing so .. baseball is the only sport that i truly love and when it ends, i'll wait through the snow for spring ..

You know if both of these teams were tearing through their schedules and blowing out the competition, then I'd be in on every pitch, but the Sox have been pretty much unwatchable for a month now. I only expect them to fail and lose now.

I will watch the rest of the season. I always do, regardless.

From another site...

The White Sox would have to go 4-2 and Detroit would have to go 2-4 to force a tie.

The White Sox would have to go 4-2 and Detroit would have to go 1-5 to clinch the division by one.

Painful or ecstatic I'll be watching almost every game til the end. Even if eliminated I'll do it because it will be the last baseball I watch for months. Well I'll follow the playoffs but it won't be religiously...

Going to the game tonight. Hopefully they can bring home a winner and pick up a game that can increase our chances a bit.

The nacho helmet I got in my first game this season was cold. At another game I enjoyed the Irish nachos.

If the Sox were tied with the Tigers I would have gone, if the Sox were a game out and showing signs of life I would have gone, if the Sox are where they are now and the weather was warmer I would have gone. But spending three plus hours in a cold ballpark watching a dead ass ball club doesn't strike me as being particularly appealing.

Yeah I'll watch. Pressure brings out the best and worst in teams, and we all know what we are witnessing. I'm not bitter....just disappointed. I thought they'd buck up. In the end, they're probably just not good enough.

It's no consolation that they performed "beyond expectations". They have a rare opportunity to grab it all, and they are folding under the pressure. Just. Not. Good. Enough.

Something I noticed that when I went to the game on Wednesday was that the recording artist they had playing before the game did a cover of "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" which I thought was a poor choice to play while your team is in the middle of choking away a division lead.
