I don't remember any mention of this here (or anywhere else), but I was saddened to read in Baseball America that Ed Stroud passed away in early July. A fleet outfielder who served two brief tours of duty for the Sox in the late 60's and early 70's, his accomplishments on the field were dwarfed by the awesomeness of his nickname.
