Simply put...Do you think Adam Dunn will break Albert Belle's White Sox record of 49 home runs in a season?

He needs 15 to tie, 16 to overtake Belle and become the first Sox player ever to hit 50.

He has just over a quarter of the season to do it, and he could very well get hot.

He also has the entire month of facing Sept. call up pitching to look forward to.

If he does the Sox have a good chance to win the division. Anything 50 and up they should be right there...

Great point that I didn't even think of!

I think he will during the last series of the season.

Nope.

I don't see it.

It does depend on how many teams we're playing in contention and out of contention the rest of the way though.

It's so hard to say. I could see him going on a tear where he hits about 10 in three weeks, and I could see him going on a horrific slump where he doesn't hit any for a month. I hope he does it. It would be nice if he could dethrone the ass fungus known as Albert Belle.

Depends how deep of a slump he still has left to hit this year. If he can stay hot for a month....WATCH OUT

It's the Canadian version of a churro.

He'll probably end up hitting .210 with 40 HR and 100 RBI's.

If that's how he finishes then we are in trouble. That would mean only 6HR and 19 RBI in the next 6 weeks.

It's going to be tough, however even if he doesn't break Belle's record, I don't remember Belle hitting the absolute monster shots that Dunn has hit this season. If total combined distance counted, Dunn wins! :o:

This reminds me of a question raised by another fan - who hits the most majestic home runs - Jim Thome or Adam Dunn? I gave the nod to Adam. He has other-worldly power.

They both hit for ridiculous power. However, almost all of Adam's HR's seem to be of the high majestic moon shot variety. Thome mixed in the vicious line drives out of the park to go along with the moon shots.

Thome was a good hitter to go along with his home run ability. as you can tell by dunn's average, he's just a masher.
