HR was a grand slam courtesy of Ryan Dempster who has been absolutely getting shelled in the AL.

3 G, 17.1 IP, 24 H, 6 BB, 19 R, 16 ER, 16 K, 8.31 ERA, 1.732 WHIP.

Yikes

YikesI saw a big drop-off from Dempster, becoming a 4-5 equivalent in the AL, but even I didn't imagine he would be this bad.

To bad Swisher sucked with the Sox. Which wasn't totally his fault, Ozzie completely screwed him up.

But that doesn't excuse his pouting and acting like a five year old the final month.

Good riddance.

When Ken Griffey Junior offers to help you and points out some things and you completely blow him off acting like he's an idiot...there's no excuse for that attitude.

+1

Watching him run around the bases on RA Dickey a while back with a **** eating grin and clapping like a monkey should have got him one in the ear hole. Nothing like acting like you've been there before.

I'm with Lip. I have the urge to punch him in the face every time I see his idiot grin on TV.

Agreed. His attitude sucked when he was here. He's a total jackass as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't help that the Sox bought high and sold low on him. Two of KW's worst trades: essentially Gio Gonzalez for those total scrubs we got from the Yankees with 1 year of Captain Morgan in between.

Off topic, but in all fairness, the two games in which he got shelled were the hot hitting and potent Angels, and the Yankees. Those are two of the top offensive teams in the AL. It's not like he got to face the Mariners and got shelled. He gave up 0 ER (3 R) to Boston over 7 IP in between.

Swisher is easily the most annoying player to put on a White Sox uniform that I can recall. Even when he was hitting early on I couldn't stand him.

Totally deserves to be traded for the best prospect in the world.

We played him in CF because we didn't have a CF who could hit; we led him off, because we didn't have a lead off hitter. Misuses on all accounts. But, so be it - sometimes you have to be flexible He acted like a baby as you said.
BUT, the greatest fault was on the Sox, who responded to this by giving him away for nothing.

I'm also in agreement with Lip on this one. There's no question Ozzie misused Swisher, but that does not excuse Swisher's jackass behavior. He's one of my least favorite Sox players of all time.

Swisher only started 29 games in CF with the Sox, less than he started for the A's the year before. He only started 29 games in lead off as well, out of 143 starts. He primarily batted 2d with the A's any way, I wouldn't think lead off should have been that big an adjustment. Let's face it, Swisher spent the season looking for walks and just ended up crapping his pants with the Sox.

+1.

In my book- he's right there with David Wells, Jaime Navarro and some other tools that have worn the Sox uniform.

The guy is just too much of a self promoter for my taste.

Agreed. When that commercial aired with him doing some kind of idiotic worm thing, Hawk said "I can't stand it"

I always said neither can I. Glad he's gone, and his grin with him.

True and to add insult to injury was we traded him to a team where he won a World Series ring the very next year.
