Let's start a thread here.

My pick:

"You know the season's over when..."

...Josh Paul is recalled from triple A.

Your ideas?

I actually listen to what my wife says instead of listening to the game.

...I can go away for a weekend to Wisconsin (this coming weekend) and not care who the Sox are playing or how they're doing.

... the Sox are mathematically eliminated...

...people are posting "You know the season is over when..." threads...

...McNown gets PT during the season... oops, wrong MB...

...The opening tip of the opening game of the Bull season goes up in the air...

...The Blackhawks get mathematically eliminated from last years playoff chase...

...You lose 7 pitchers and your MVP candidate for the whole season before the end of May...

So, VC, what you're saying is you think the Sox have a decent chance of going to the playoffs?

...Jose Canseco has become your best RBI man, and Royce Clayton your most consistent hitter...

...but to be honest I started getting a really bad gut feeling that this wasn't our year when we got swept by the Tigers the first week of the season.

...You become an Astros fan

...You can't wait to see Jeff Berry's arm

...You have no holes in the lineup because it's empty all the way down

...Royce Clayton wins PTC

...Even Cubs fans feel sorry for you

...Those reality T.V. shows have new appeal

...You hope to earn a split with the Devil Rays

...the fat lady sang already!

Nope, I don't consider it probable, but it is still possible... Don't ask me to believe this seson is over, I spent way to much on my partial season box seats...

You know the season is over when...

...you pay more attention to the Bears QB Derby.

...you would rather watch a cheesy Kevin Bacon movie than the Sox game.

...you start measuring for the six foot length of rope you will use to end it all after the Cubs make the Series.

...you try to maintain your interest in baseball through a fantasy league where you're in 5th place anyway.

...you wonder how Wannstedt's team will finish this year.

fans are more concerned with PTC rules than Sox winning ...

As win 6 in a row, 22/29 and are about blow past wrong sox & toons to steal the wild card ...

JB and his walk in from the mound is doing it to the scrubs in la la land ...

sox clubhouse can keep up with the number of posts without internal service error ...

quarterbacks' labrums start falling off like sox pitching staff (i.e. like autumn leaves)...

daver goes fishing and you can't tell a difference in the sox W-L...

you find yourself watching eight men out just to see sox tearing the cover off the ball ...

terminator, who started the may-june comeback in gutsy fashion, gets bombed in outing after outing ...

JW makes trades and doesn't even care he got the wrong guy ...

JR doesn't even care JW got the wrong guy ... as long as it doesn't disprove the efffectiveness of white flag ...

you spend $252 million on a shortstop and $0 on pitching...

(ok, this is a Texas Rangers bash, but the shoe kind of fits...)

....I make a bet that with a Cub fan that the Sox will be within 10 games of them at the end of the year.

....I don't feel the glammar of last year, at all.
