Don't know anything about him, just reporting what the official Twitter account tells me...

Hasn't played in the majors in 5 or 6 years. Career numbers very similar to Escobar's. I think he's supposed to be good with the glove. Defensive replacement, probably won't see many ABs.

My guess is he won't be here long. KW likely has another move up his sleeve to shore up the bench.

His name is Spanish for "Ozzie Smith."

I'm happy with just a defensive backup. I'm hoping Kenny doesn't reach too hard for a bench player. Between Hudson and a minor league defender I think the Sox will be fine.

I think it's strange to trade Floyd if that's true. Any chance they'd swap for Romero?

I'll take any utility infielder at this point, at least until another one is acquired.

Not necessary until Liriano is added to the active roster

Not necessary until Liriano is added to the active roster

Isn't the acquired player, if he is on the other team's active roster, immediately "on" the active roster of his new team?

Liriano took the roster spot of Escobar.

The Twins assigned Escobar to their AAA team, but they could do that because he still has minor league options. Liriano does not.

Olmedo cannot officially be added to the 25-man roster until someone else goes down.

If I'm not mistaken, the White Sox have 72 hours in which to add Liriano to the active roster

Cue the talk for acquiring WS hero Geoff Blum as an option?
