Heard this on the game last night, and the Trib followed up in the paper this morning. Friday's game was the first time in MLB history that a team has used eight rookie pitchers in a game. The previous record was seven pitchers, last done by Detroit in 2003.
What's even more amazing is that of the eight pitchers (Quintana, Omogrosso, Jones, Septimo, Marinez, Santiago, Reed, and Axelrod), the only guy who was really on the radar, at the end of last year, to be on the 2012 roster was Reed.
