Why did the O'Malley family sell the Dodgers and then years later buy the Padres? I would like to think the Dodgers would be a better franchise to own than the Padres.

I wonder what the Sox are worth based on this. Not to mention the steal the Ricketts family got at $845.

Steal? They way overpaid.

Maybe they will move the Padres to Brooklyn!

I wonder if this is why Phil has been playing so lousy on the PGA tour lately, his mind is on Padres ownership and not golf.

Be good if they can get this done soon. Moores has totally checked out mentally. Even if the O'Malley group doesn't make the Padres a top-10 payroll, being around 15th could make a world of difference for this team.

Be great to see quality baseball at Petco again.

If you a buy house that needs tens of thousands of dollars in repairs, you subtract that from the sale price.

Wrigley needs hundreds of millions of dollars in repair and renovation, and the team still sold for $900 million.

It will be interesting to see when, how much, and who pays.

Good for the Padres that they may have a better shot at competing now.

Kinda depends who pays for the repairs and improvements. Theo and Ricketts will attenpt to have the city/state pay for them. Thats exactly what happened in Mesa.
