Okay, so spill it. How many times have you voted so far? For me, I've got 50 and counting.

Also, does anyone know the current totals? Last I heard, Peavy was "close behind" Yu Darvish, but I never got any concrete numbers.

I lost track...I sat there during the game yesterday voting over and over and over again.

So far, probably 75 times. I'm going on now to vote some more... but I have a feeling Peavy won't be able to beat out a whole country.

#TakeJake has been trending worldwide twice, but Yu Darvish was up there for most of the first hour.

Keep voting!

When I was at the game Tuesday, I got an acknowledgment the first time, but nothing on subsequent texts. Not sure if they take more than one per phone number.

I just tried again, no acknowledgement....

Either Adam Dunn is tweeting in the dugout or someone is running his account for him. He just retweeted someone for the #TakeJake hashtag about 5 minutes ago.

No, keep texting - that's ok, you won't get a response past the first text. I read that somewhere in the rules.

Yeah, but two bright sides:

1) Jake knows that the Sox fans are behind him; and
2) the ASG is a beauty contest, anyway.

Q: How many Rangers are on that ASG team? You know, the Rangers, the team we just swept?
A: Way too many.

Ron Washington must think they have the pennant sewed up and they are playing for the homefield. Personally,I have seen 2 straight Rangers choke jobs against teams they should have killed in the WS, time for them to move out the way this year. I don't think I ever saw or meet a Rangers fan outside my nephew ,who grew up in Dallas, until about 2 years ago. Hmmmmmmm, just happens to coincide with them doing something for the first time in 40 years. They still haven't won nothing though.

VenturaFan23
07-05-2012, 04:00 PM
Well we knew we were battling the odds but at least we gave all we had. I'm more pissed that the best catcher in the AL will not be going. Go pound sand, Washington and Ranger fans.

07-05-2012, 04:06 PM
Good show of support by Sox fans....supposedly we came close to catching Darvish, which would have been against all odds.

MLB loves having a japanese player involved in the voting, engaging more from that country in the ASG and boosting ratings over there. Chicago? They already capture that market.

Oh well....go get some well-deserved rest,Jake...the next 80 games are the important ones anyway....go show Ron Washington tomorrow nite that you deserved it,and kick some Jays butt!

Foulke You
07-05-2012, 04:09 PM
Peavy likely would have won had we not been battling the entire country of Japan as well as Rangers fans. I'm sure MLB wanted Darvish and the international audience he brings.

AL Championships are something. I'd be a happy camper if the Sox could pull one of those out of the hat this year.

Robin's revenge against Nolan Ryan.

It's still more than we've had in the past few years. Of course I'd prefer another 2005, but I'd still be happy even if the team just made the playoffs. I'm easy to please I guess.

Darvish's team is hosting the ASG, and Peavy comes in 2nd.

Damn it.

Sox sweep the Rangers and AJ runs over their catcher to score.

Awesome.

Jake, you know you deserve it. If you don't make it in as a last minute sub, then go home and rest so you can go 6-0 in the 2nd half and help us win the****ing Central.
