Hasn't been announced on the selection show yet but if you go to mlb.com/vote it's on there. Let's start the voting early!

I say no. Let him rest. Does he have an all star bonus? If so, forget it. Save the $ for the trade deadline.

I want him to get his last rest of year at All Star break, then the Sox to ride him hard in the 2nd half.

I don't even want to see Sale pitch in the All-Star Game. It was nice that he got the honor, but I would be happy if he didn't get into the game.

I would have liked to have seen Konerko get the honor of being voted in to start, but I hope he doesn't have to deal with anything more than a pinch-hitting appearance because he needs the rest. Adam Dunn will only get a pinch-hitting appearance, and will probably strike out. Complain about White Sox players getting overlooked (and Rios has a case), but Dunn this year is a truly ridiculous selection.

Dunn is almost an honorary selection, as low as his BA is it's still a remarkable comeback and the rest of the league appreciates that.

If anyone got snubbed it's AJ.

I really don't think starting pitchers should be included in this final vote. With that said yu darvish will probably get it anyways.

I wonder if Dunn is going to do the home run derby.

I agree, More so than Rios.

3rd in MLB in homers, 5th in RBI .. a ridiculous selection?

His average is terrible but when you consider the walks, his OBP/OPS are top 40

Sale can't pitch; he's slated to pitch the last game of the second half.

And goddamn do you hate Adam Dunn.

In this story he says (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/chi-sale-konerko-dunn-to-represent-sox-at-allstar-game-20120701,0,2898355.story)he will try to go and pitch but will have to talk about it a bit before deciding.

If you honestly believe anyone except for Yu Darvish is going to win this you're officially out of your mind.

I seem to recall people saying something similar when it was Jeter and Pods on the final vote..

Seriously. And would it really hurt for us to try? We have a pretty good track record with this type of stuff. And Peavy has gone out and pitched his butt off for us this season while our offense has given him nothing. Least we could do...

Okay, yeah. Just text A5 to 89269 to vote for Jake. Probably the easiest way to rack up votes quickly if you have an unlimited text plan and a copy/paste function.

Pretty simple. Let's do it.

Sure; I'll put in some votes for Jake. But sorry; as long as the All-Star game is the beauty pageant it is, I really don't give a rat's ass about it. I don't watch it, and I sure as hell do not consider it a measure of players' worth.

Noneck

Considering that I want Peavy to be ridden in the 2nd half and I want him rested for that ride, I'll be voting for Broxton who I hope will throw about 30 pitches in front of his home town fans, in 100 degree heat and a dew point of 75.

Pods likely didn't have an entire country voting against him.

Maybe so, but in WSI "Totally Biased" fashion, I'm going to vote like crazy for Peavy anyway.

Again, Jake-meister has noone to blame but himself. Had he shut shut down the Twins at spacious Target Field, and kept the Yankees to 1 or 2 runs.... With 7 or 8 wins, a mid-2.00 ERA not to mention his name recognition, he might just make the All-Star team outright.

6-5 record, near 3.00 ERA is still good, but not elite enough. Hence the Final Five thing.

Similar predicament to Phillip Humber in 2011. Into June, he was on his way to make the AS team but his clown manager left him too long in a few games with nice lead in Boston, Oak Colorado..... ignoring the limited workload in the past, wore him down past the previous workload, that ERA went to over 3.00 dead arm fatigue set in last start or two..... Before you blinked, Humber fell out of AS contention real quick.

As for Peavy...would it be such a bad thing if he didn't go and rested the arm? Even moreso than Chris Sale?

Not to mention, there is still like 10 games until the All-Star Break. So many things can happen, including other AL starters dropping out of the All-Star game, which might allow Peavy to be a last-minute replacement (assuming Darvish is voted in).

Maybe even Pirzinski makes it if another catcher gets hurt or something. Ron Washington said he is aware some people are not happy AJ was dissed.

None of this matters if Sox tank in September again as they did in 2009-2011. Truly.

Im not sure how many times you can vote, but I sat down for about an hour straight entering numbers over and over and over. Sure would be nice to see Jake rebound as he has and to make it to the all star game.
