CUBBIES LOSE! CUBBIES LOSE!

While our team suffers it may give some of us Sox fans a small measure of comfort to watch the lousy Cubbies lose 3 of 4 to the Phillies. I sure enjoyed the Cubbies loss today.

FYI: To the Cubbie fans that patrol WSI, number one I want my White Sox to win. However when the Sox don't win I love watching your beloved Cubbies suffer & die like a patch of poisoned ivy.

With the Sox season a train wreck, it is nice to see the Cubs come back down to earth in a hurry after their mini-spurt just after the break. If nothing else, Murph is much better to listen to in the morning when he's whining about the Cubs than when he's excited about them.

Cubs fan: (n) A person who celebrates a two-game winning streak; anyone who equates a .500 season with a World Series title.

People who use the word "Cubbies" are probably closet Cub fans in reality; the kind of people who do the "Wave" when they invade Comiskey, spell the words to "YMCA" with their arms, throw back home run balls, think Sammy Sosa should run for mayor, think "hitting the cutoff man" has something to do with last call, wear their hair blue or whatever, eat quiche, know what polenta is (what is polenta anyway?) drink chardonnay and have their cellphones surgically attached to their bodies, think Chip Caray rules and still believes the Flubs have a chance. Please refrain from that term in this forum. Now on to St Louis and hopefully a sweep for the Cards!

Right now its hard to laugh at the Flubs when we are 2 games or so ahead of them.

Easy there.

I prefer calling them the Cubbies. Cub is a whimpy name for a sports team and Cubbie is even worse.

OK, I'll buy that. I just had to make sure. I'm new to the forum, you know, and am just making sure you're not a troll or something. You're cool. :D:

Hey I'm not trying to give you or anybody a hard time but I've always called them cubbies as in cute adorable cubbies. I'm not in any closets either, at least not now. Love the Sox despite the pain, hate the ( you fill in the blank with the name of your own chosing for that other team). A great day is when we win. A really great day is when we win and they lose. A stupendous day is when they spot us an 8 run lead and then we come back and stomp them.

how our fans get up and dance to YMCA?
WOW! Our Cub fans love that song.
I hear it's the Wrigleyville national anthem.
I wonder Patrick if we can get the Village
People together here to sing Take Me Out
To The Ballgame?"

Well, today they had Dave Kingman singing it. Have they no shame? How low can they go? Who's next, Curtis Enis? Or did they already use him? :gulp:

Trust me, you'll know when you see a troll on this board. There aren't any.

Unless you count Vic. But he has Joe Borchard in his signature. So it's easy to forget that he roots for the wrong side.

The only other trolls that you have to worry about are Ma-gaga (resident Twinks troll) and Outcastradio (resident Tribe troll who hasn't been heard from for months).

The word "Cubbies" makes me violently ill. It is emblematic of the "Cubs are cute" attitude that infests Chicago and the Chicago media. "Ooooh, the little Cubbie bears. I just want to pinch their cheeks."

And from what I saw of the highlights,Lieber looked like crap last night.God bless the sCrUBS.As God awful as this year has been for the Sox,they could have a worse record than the sCrUBs.
Thank God they don't!!
