Wife and I will be at the June 14th game and seated in the 1st base Red Bird Club.

Will anyone else be attending?

I am so mad this is a weekday series. I'd have been there, no question, otherwise.

Great ballpark, by the way.

DeadMoney and I will be there for all 3 games (then we are heading to LA for the Fri/Sat games of the Dodgers series).

Looking forward to checking out Busch Stadium and hoping to see a lot of White Sox fans out there!

No kidding. I'd have definitely flown down and spent a night there had it been during the weekend! I'll be wrapping up the regular school year then.

With my new work schedule I now have a mid-week weekend, so I'll be flying up from Dallas for a game... haven't decided which one yet. Glad we're FINALLY playing an interleague game at the New Busch!

If I can get a day off, I really want to get down there. What are the recommended bars to go to after a game?

Wednesday-Thursday, Drury at the Arch hotel but no game tickets yet. 2-4 of us going.

I live in St. Louis and have been waiting for this for years!! I will be at all 3 games, hopefully when the gates open. I will most likely be in the bleachers (cheap seats on stubhub a day or 2 before the games just a tip )

I'll be there at the Wed and Thurs games staying at a nearby hotel with a group of 4. I'm glad the Sox are playing their best ball now since I bought the tickets months ago. No way did I expect the Sox to be in 1st heading into June.

I went to the park for the first time last year since I was already downstate for a family event and I'm excited to see it again. It really is a great stadium.

Any recommendations for bars or restaurants in St. Louis would be appreciated. I've hear Mike Shannon's is very expensive so I doubt I'll eat there, but I have no idea what else is down there.

I don't know about bars (I was there quite a bit every summer with my dad growing up, but was last there when I was 16 or so), but from what I remember The Hill has a lot of good Italian restaurants (Yogi Berra & Joe Garagiola grew up in the neighborhood).

I was there during the 2006 World Series. Check out the Central West End (accessible by light rail from the ballpark) or the Soulard District (a short cab ride south of the ballpark).

Been there probably 15 or so times and it is a great park. I have sat all over the place and there really isn't a bad seat in the whole place. But too me the bleachers is the best spot.

I'll be there for Wednesday and Thursday's games in LF below Big Mac Land each night. Had tickets for all 3 but double booked in Branson on Tuesday. Bummer!
I'll be in Sox apparel looking for some friendly faces!
Can't believe it's been 10 years since they've been here. I can remember seeing a young Albert Pujols in right field last time.

Damn. We thought about bleacher seats, but I decided I wanted a panoramic view of the field instead, so I asked for seats in the upper deck instead. Wish I'd known this beforehand.

I sat in the upper level and liked it. Their upper level is much nicer than ours. Plus, it's turned the correct way, so fans can take in the skyline view as well from up there. It's a nice view.

Anyone attending : Get the cheapest tickets you can.

Given that these are weekday games and Cardinal fans can't even spell American League, local turnout could be weak or indifferent.

It's not difficult to move around the park.

Overall, as a stadium, it's OK, but I've always felt they could have done better.

If you want to have fun before/after the game, walking will lead to few results. The fun areas are farther away.

Upper Deck isn't bad but if I had to pick one spot to sit in it would be the bleachers.

I'll be there for the Tuesday game. As for bars, there is a couple close by just south of 40. Patio's and the Ballpark Saloon. If you go a couple blocks west on Clark there is J Bucks. Just north of the vacant site of old Busch is Mike Shannon's... My favorite would be the Lacledes Landing area in between the new casino and the arch. Morgan Street Brewery is cool, and there are others along that strip as well ad the bars inside lumiere place casino.

By the way you can park cheap if you walk a few blocks. Around 7th and pine is a parking garage for $5. And it's less than 10 min walk to the park. You cn also park at the casino queen in east st Louis ( don't worry the casino is the one part of esl that is safe) and take the light rail to the park.

St Louis has an interesting attraction called the city museum that is not a typical museum...it even ha a bar that serves Schlafly! Its hard to describe but it's fun for all

Cardinal fans are generally nicer to visitors than most places I've been FYI....easy to make friends by ripping the cubs.

The horrible humidity might throw some of you for a loop if it's hot,but yeah the park is nice, but I still think the Cell is more fan friendly. The new Busch reminds me of a big amusement park, and the prices are way higher for stuff at Busch than the Cell.

The ballpark is nice. Agreed, in some aspects, there are a few nooks around the concourse area that may remind you of an amusement park.

Looking out towards the skyline is an awesome view.

The old bars over at the Landing... just right by the Lumiere Place casino is a fun spot. There's an outdoor beer garden area called Big Daddys. Walk past there, and the bouncer will give you a BUY ONE DRINK, GET ONE FREE card... in hopes you will stay.

Walk along Washington Street for a variety of bars.

Hint Hint -- I was in St. Louis for a night two weeks ago at the downtown Hilton for just $109 a night. Being that the series is on a weeknight, I'm not sure if that means hotels will be more available or not. The $109 price I booked a few weeks ago was a steal compared with what I normally find in St. Louis via the various Pricelines, and Expedias. There are cheaper alternatives in Clayton, MO, about a 10 to 15 minute drive west.

This! If you have time and are bringing kids, the city museum is amazing for kids and adults. Be sure to stretch out first...

Every time I go to a Cardinals game I will always will a White Sox shirt. Nobody has ever said anything to me until the last game I went to when it was a Cards/Cubs game... Fredbird (Cards mascot) pointed at my shirt and shook his head and then some lady with Cardinals stuff on said I should be wearing a Cubs shirt. I didn't understand that at all.

Almost every Cardinal fan I have ever encountered makes no differentiation between Cubs and Sox fans; all they see is our road greys both say Chicago.

When I was in St. Louis a few years ago, I wore a Pujols shirt and a Sox hat. The lady who served me at the place I went to before the game questioned me for it. That's the only experience I have like that.

Yeah, we're going Tuesday and I'm not really expecting to bond with Cardinal fans over mutual hatred of the Cubs. I went to college in Central Illinois and lived and worked downstate for a couple years after that. None of the St. Louis fans I encountered during that time ever had much nice to say about anything Chicago.

The other day I bought some $ 12 seats for Wednesday so my wife, two friends, & I will be at Wednesday and Thursday games. With the weather forecast dropping the temps into the 80s, it should be nice at the night games.

We are in NJ visiting for a granddaughter's high school graduation and then have to drive have 940 miles to St Louis.

On a side note, on the drive east we did eat lunch in a small restaurant in Nellie Fox's home town. The restaurant is right next to a billboard about him and of course the restaurant had a couple of items about him on the wall.

Will be looking for all of the Sox fans in Sox attire in St Louis. :D:

I went to Sox vs. Cards back in the late 90s (1998 I think...) at the old Busch Stadium and the Cards fans were anything but friendly towards us. I got pelted with peanuts from above every time I went to the concourse. Most of the razzing we received was a bit more mean spirited than I was expecting. It's not like the Sox were winning that day either. I remember Scott Eyre started the game for us and you can imagine how well that went. Maybe it was just a bad crowd that night but it was one of my worst Sox "road" experiences ever.
