Yankees President Randy Levine: "There has been no action with any banks and the team does not have any debt
and is not looking to sell.

Multi-generational trusts set up by GSteinbrenner for heirs virtually preclude sale of Yanks; even if sold, heirs would incur huge tax bite

Some baseball writers on twitter speculated that the team could be sold for nearly $4 billion.

Seems like kind of a lopsided trade, unless the Yanks are going to pick up a few salaries.

Trost was on WFAN, Boomer and Carlton show and had this to say:

"With respect to Major League Baseball, we (the Yankees) will ask the commissioner (Bud Selig) to undertake an investigation and take appropriate action."

:rolling:

What chutzpah! Why stop here? Selig should also launch an investigation of wise-ass message board posters who say insulting things about the Yankees. Then he should move on to those who knock the Red Sox, and follow that up with civil suits against Joe West hecklers.

Justice! Harumph!

Why stop there, Tebman? He should just ban any mention of Yankees/Red Sox teams--any mention--that does not acknowledge their obvious superiority over all the lesser teams.

I scored a personal triumph last weekend, though. My brother, who has long insisted that there was no such thing as "East Coast bias," folded at last.
