It will be a friendly match between two European clubs, AS Roma and Zaglebie Lubin (from Poland) in one of Roma's stops on a tour through America.

Will both teams have to use the same goal?

That is going to be one narrow ass field. IT might be worse than Portand's stadium.

When the Sting played at Wrigley back in the 80's, part of the field went onto the skin of the infield between 2nd and 3rd base. I would assume they will do the same for this match.

Yep. I actually remember seeing the Sting playing the Jacksonville Tea Men in a match at Wrigley. There was one goal on the third-base line and one in right-center.

And back then, there were still people not watching the game.

Will Dieter Ferner kick out the first ball?

Lame. Dyche Stadium was left needlessly empty so NU can play a ridiculous 1-way game which was an embarrassment to the NCAA.

And now the Toy or Soldier's will be needlessly empty for this crap. Why compromise the game just to play it at that dump? What an embarrassment.

I wonder if there's room for a NASCAR track in there?

I saw a game in Fenway 2 years ago. The teams had to take corners from one side since there wasn't space up against the wall for inswingers.

Also, the game was tied after 90 so they went to a PK shootout. Take that for what its worth.

Not the same, but still impractical.

Glad to see they are finally letting two professional sports teams take the field there. First time in quite a while.

And I'll bet in the spirit of crap at Wrigley...whoever the "home" team will be will lose the game.

Yeah, I heard it called the Toy once or twice. So I sheepishly followed the trend.

As long as they don't start calling SF the Soldge...

I'm glad we use apostrophe's to let us know an "s" is coming.

It's not a plural, it's a possessive. It's the store that belongs to Jewel. Just like the lakefront stadium belongs to a soldier.

Of course the plural of apostrophe does not contain an apostrophe.

The Chicago Fire game is on channel 5 right now. Is this a first? I do not recall ever seeing a Fire game on a Big 4 channel (2,5,7, 32). Maybe some Fire fans here can shed light on this. Thanks.
