Didn't see this in the newspapers and someone asked about this in another thread. I asked Gonzo tonight what he saw at Moose's services. He attended to pay his respects (which was nice of him. I wonder how many other media people were there...)

Anyway he said that Minnie and Melton were among the pallbearers. Jerry Reinsdorf, Bob Grim, Mike Mazza and Bobby Bertucci of the White Sox were there.

Bobby Richardson and Tony Kubek made impressive speeches representing the Yankees. The Mickey Mantle and Johnny Blanchard families sent flowers, So did Ron Guidry. Don Larsen and Bob Turley, two of Moose's teammates with the Yankees, were there as well.

He said Jerry took the passing of Moose very hard.

Sounds like he was well-regarded all around. RIP, Moose.

Didn't notice until the first game today that the Sox are wearing patches with Moose's initials. For the rest of the year I assume?
