Picked him up in fantasy and he is starting tomorrow vs the Dodgers at 9:10 PM CT. So excited. And I believe it will be MLB.com's free game of the day.

The injuries to Morse and Zimmerman seemed to push their threshold a little bit. In a perfect world, they didn't want to start his clock until June.

But the NL East is vulnerable right now, and they've started fast, so I don't blame them going for it. With two wild cards, a division title has strong value again.

Putting him in my lineup, watch out WSI H2H2 league!

He hit well last year in A ball, but not in AA where he managed just a .256/.329/.395 line, and in AAA this season had just a .250/.353/.370 line.

They have a good chance at the division title and are off to a fantastic start with a great rotation but a struggling offense, but I wonder if they're not rushing Harper up too soon.

The Nationals are an offensively hapless team and two of their best hitters are on the DL. Harper will replace a platoon that was hitting .097.

He will struggle, and I doubt he hits better than .200. But he will be an improvement over their current situation.

Yeah, I stole Harper in my draft in the mid-rounds since he wasn't ranked and had the "Not-Eligible" designation next to his name. He still hasn't been officially activated, but it's nice to be on top of this one in case he explodes.

Strasburg is pitching for the Nats, tomorrow, too.

Someone please tell me this game is going to be on MLB Network

The guy has flat out not been very good at AA or AAA. Lots of k's and not much power. I know they don't have a lot of options, but he seems to be at least a year or two away from being a solid contributor at the MLB level. He does at least seem to have the psyche of a kid who could start off 3-40 and not let it ruin him mentally.

From what I've read he's not necessarily in the bigs for good this season, which is sort of odd to me.

Double on a nice rip, kinda looked douchey throwing his helmet off while running but I think he was thinking 3 out of the box. Made a perfect throw in the 7th that should have nailed a runner at the plate but Ramos couldn't hang on.

The most important news about Harper is that he wears stirrups. He might be a complete jerk but he's got style.

And his hair certainly didn't help his look.

Harper was very impressive- I knew he was a good hitter- but his speed and his arm surprised me.

Somebody needs to get that kid a "major league" haircut-

How in the hell does he hit? That swing is fugly.

I was at the game last night and sat in the LF stands behind Harper. The kid continues to impress with his hustle and demeanor. First time I've seen in person a steal of home. I don't see how he goes back down at this point. He seems to have all the tools and makeup.

It's very cool to see such a young "phenom" making an impact- all 5 tools have been on display in just a few short weeks-

The one problem I have noticed and that others have pointed out as well is that he drops his hands a bit and tends to pull his head off the ball which could make him suspectible to balls low and away. If that is the case the league will catch onto it soon and we will see how he does once pitchers make adjustments

He drops his hands too much. And looks like he is very easily going to develop a hitch.

Anyone read the si article on him a couple of years back? His dad would throw things for him to hit anything that would not fly straight.

Tonight Bryce Harper went 0-for-5.

Between his 4th and 5th at-bats, he went into the tunnel and hit the wall with his bat. His bat bounced back and hit him just above the eye. While he was in the outfield, his eyebrow began to bleed profusely, and he had a stream of blood running down his cheek, like one of those statutes of the Virgin Mary that bleed blood from their eyes.

Zambrano would be proud. In the end, he ended up beating the crap out of the guy who deserved it most.

I'm surprised the bat didn't break. It's funny, you can hit a cement wall with a bat and it doesn't break, but hit a baseball with a bat and the bat can break!

He's also lucky the bat didn't shatter and end up with parts of it in his eye. We all do stupid things; most of us get lucky. I once hit a wall while bowling; I thought I broke my wrist. At least I used my non-dominant hand.

Harper playing a very error-prone outfield. A lot of no-chance throws to home that let guys advance to second. Last night he lost a ball in the lights and saw it land on the warning track 20 feet behind him while he set up for a catch in short right field, ala Podsednik against the Indians in 2005.

An error today too, let a ball bounce off his glove.
