Sounds like he was damaged goods (http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/new-york-yankees-pitcher-michael-pineda-to-miss-rest-of-season-for-shoulder-surgery-042512) when the trade was made. Don't the Yankees spend money on physicals?

I read that as "Piniella" and was really confused. Good luck to him.

Too bad, he's a world-class talent. Hope he recovers

Somewhere Nardi Contreras is smiling.

I'm trying to think of all the White Sox who had torn labrums in the early '00's. I've come up with Sirotka, Parque, Barcelo, and Danny Wright so far. I feel like there were a few more.

I think maybe Antonio Osuna had one when he started so terribly and got booed off the field at the home opener in '01. What about Kelly Wunsch? I can't remember if that was what he had or not when he was constantly hurt.
