Congrats to this old warhorse for winning his first game of the season at the age of 49!!

He'll have to get closer to speculate, but with just 32 wins needed for 300, does he get into the HOF?

Despite the great story of his career turnaround, other than wins and this his 26th season, he would be a very questionable HOF candidate based on his stats.

Yet with so many borderline inductees in the last 15 years, how do you keep him out if he gets 300 wins?

Postgame remarks about this being for the team and not himself are just classy as hell. Hard not to root for him.

I agree. I love his story.

The only thing he's got going against him is that he's Digger Phelps' son in law.

I read today that he has faced 8% of the hitters in MLB history. That's an insanely high number.

Good to know somebody older than me is still playing at that level.

Hall of Fame? Not a chance.

There is a sizable group of pitchers that were unquestionably better than Jamie Moyer who won't get into the Hall of Fame.

He might end up one of those players that gets 30-40% of the vote. Who knows, maybe he throws next year as well...

I would think he would like to pitch next year and get a win at 50. A bad team and maybe the team where he 1st pitched might take a flyer on him and draw some fans for this circus show early next year.

no way,he has averaged like 12 wins in his career.Jim Kaat played about that long, close to the same wins, but was a better pitcher and he isn't in.
