The Phillies chose Juan Pierre over Scott Podsednik, due to a contract stipulation. Pods, upon learning he was being sent to AAA Lehigh Valley, failed to report. He eventually did, is just 2 for his first 13.

Ken Rosenthal suggests that Pods could be an option for the Red Sox in need of an OF.

If the Red Sox think Pods is their answer then they are really in trouble!

50% success rate in that post. Just like Pierre's SB/CS.

I'm sure if anyone else out there is in need of ****ty ex-White Sox OF, Alex Rios can be had for cheap

Hard to believe he prefers AAA to staying home!

Ken Rosenthal

Clarification on Podsednik: Out date is 6/1. Phillies not obligated to let
him go if he gets major-league offer. Would consider fair trade.

For cheap? Actually for free just like how the Sox got him but that "free" means for 36+M.

The loyalty of WSI to players who gave them the only WS championship they will probably see in their lifetimes is truly moving.

I guess I'll just stop being a Sox fan now, since they won't win a World Series title in the next 50 years.

We root for laundry. Pods is pretty much washed up. So are a LOT of the guys from that team. What are we supposed to say?

DeWayne Wise is all locked up with the Yankees, so that's another possibility of outfield help now unavailable (unless the yankees need to call someone up).

If either team thinks either of these guys is their answer their screwed.

Contrary to popular opinion, there still is a need out there for speed guys as PH/PR, especially in the NL where the bench is used much more day to day.

It takes all kinds in the big leagues. Yes, even slap hitters.

Just cause they don't hit .290 with 25 homers doesn't mean they have no use...

What happened with him last season anyway? After a very solid '09-10 nobody wanted to give him a shot? Was he injured?

He developed plantar fasciitis prior to the 2011 season with Toronto and a leadoff hitter with a foot problem is not much of a commodity. He supposedly had a very good spring training this year though.
