Probably no surprise, but Robin makes it official:

So that probably means peavy is starting the home opener then.

Does the first week look like this?

4/6 @Tex Danks
4/7 @Tex Peavy?
4/8 @Tex Floyd?
4/9 @Clev Humber
4/10 @Clev Sale
4/11 @Clev Danks
4/12 Off
4/13 Home Opener Peavy?

Not Floyd? I hate Ventura's decision making already.

Id rather flip flop Sale and Humber to avoid 2 leftys in a row.

I'm very ready now. Danks looked good today as well. Can't wait.

I have to find the reference, but I think the rotation was stated to be Danks, Peavy, Floyd, Sale, Humber.
Edit: Mark Gonzalez tweeted it.

A lefty with a good pickoff move? What happened to Ventura moving the team in a new direction?

Humber pitched better than the rest last season. I know the media and many fans couldn't handle it, but l'd pitch him first.

5.01 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in only 55 IP int he second half of the season was not good for Humber. And he doesn't have the same name pizazz as Danks.

I miss the Burly Mon already.

Oh dear. How weird is it going to be not seeing him on the mound for the Sox opener?

Oddly enough, Mark Buehrle won't be starting opening day for the Marlins, either. But I've been missing him, too.

in my wildest fantasy:
"1st pitch, a nasty offspeed skeezeball just over the corner, strike one"

followed by 5-0 White Sox victory

He's the closest thing we have to an ace now that Buehrle is gone, so not a surprise. Let's hope he pitches like the somewhat seasoned veteran he is. Not just on Opening Day, but the whole year.

This rotation is also posted on the official Sox website.

Add my name to the list of those who miss Mark Buehrle. And yes, it will be weird not seeing him pitch for the Sox on Opening Day. I cherish my memories of his years in a White Sox uniform.

Looking forward, though, John Danks is here and he is the Sox best pitcher now. Congrats to Danks on being named the Opening Day starter & here's hoping that Johnny will be really, really, good all season long.

It's gonna be weird just not seeing him pitch every 5th day in general! Let's hope the other pitchers can pick up some more innings.

 I sniffle a little every time I see my Buehrle shirt. However...time to move on. I hope Danks has a great year.
