HOFer?
He should be, he was a great player who was over looked at times.

HOFer?
Undoubtedly.

Undoubtedly.
Agreed, 3B is such an underrepresented position.
Question is 1st ballot or not?

He has better numbers than Santo does, correct?

Probably not.
Though I haven't been to a Braves game in a few years now, I will miss hearing calls of "Larry, Larry, Larry."

Probably not, depending on the class.
But I'm almost 100% he will get in there sooner rather than later.

Hope he goes out with a bang.

Granted, I'm only 28, but he's easily the best 3B i've ever seen.

Great player over the course of his career. He's battled through injuries the last few years by keeping himself in great playing shape. I think he'll go in on the first ballot being switch hitting infielder, .300 lifetime average, over 450 HR's with over 1500 RBI's.

Yeah, I guess, the only guys off the top of my head who are signed for 2012 and HOF-bound but this could be their last year are Mariano, Thome, and Vizquel. Vlad and Ivan Rodriguez are still FA, so if they don't find a team they wouldn't qualify as Class of '17.

I have definitely enjoyed seeing him play over the years; here's to one last good season for him and a spot in Cooperstown!

I always enjoyed watching him play when I lived in Atlanta. Glad he got to spend his entire career with the Braves. I think he's a shoo-in for the Hall.

.300/.400/.500 career. How many other players* can say that? Six.
Their names? Cobb, Ruth, Musial, Ott, Williams, Thomas.
Maybe I was wrong, he is a first ballot HOF. Plus, there are few 3B in the Hall.
Here are the other switch-hitters in MLB history with a .300+ average and 300+ HRs: .
*With 10,000 career plate appearances. See FanGraphs/SABRheads tribute to him here:
