I know, outside of Buehrle, our entire pitching staff has sucked and Keith Foulke fell off the face of the planet. Do you think management is looking at the success of Kip Wells and Josh Fogg and thinking we're not getting enough production from our current staff? What are the reasons, do you think, that Nardi's time has come?

An entire pitching staff on the DL last season might just have something to do with it,along with the fact that he teaches poor mechanics, cannot even realize that his pitchers are tipping their pitches, and does nothing to help the young pitchers on this staff.

Danny Wright is a primne example,in AA he could throw four pitches for strikes consistently, now he cannot find the plate consistently with anything other than a fastball that gets hammered.

What was Danny's ERA in AA (approx)?

Kevin Kennedy was on the Score and he said that Nardi does a great job of organizing workouts, charting pitches, etc, but that he couldn't comment if Nardi could effectively coach. Reading between the line of Kevin's comments, I think the Kennedy said without saying that Nardi is a Good guy, hard worker, very organized but probably can't coach a lick.

It's funny, but if Nardi is let go, and i hope he is gone tomorrow a long with Manuel, I think that it will be a culmination of a lot of things from this year and previuos years - Pitchers breaking down with injuries, young pitchers not being able to turn the corner, poor talent evaluation (Kip and Josh), poor performance by some veteran pitchers (Ritchie, Howry and Foulke).

Is Nardi the source of all of our pitching problems?? Probably not, but when you have a young staff, there are far too many question marks that seem to end up at the feet of Nardi.

Yes he is.

Jerry Manuel, Nardi Contreras, Wallace Johnson, and Gary Pettitt are all examples of the laid back approach the White Sox have taken all year long....... the underachieving White Sox.

There is no fire in the bellies of the general manager, manager, or the coaching staff with the exception of possibly Gary Ward. The team plays up to the personality of its management.

There is always another day and another game. Remember the team's advertising pitch this season: You better bring your "A" game when you play the White Sox! You got to be kidding, teams are beating us with their F game or G, H, whatever. It has been disgusting and the kicker was wait until after the all-star game and we play the Tigers, Royals, Indians, and Orioles all sub 500 teams. What a JOKE........ they were waiting for us weren't they?

The only thing left to do is remove Nardi, Gary, Jerry, Wallace, and of course Kenny too. While we are at it....... how about getting rid of Jerry Reinsdorf who sits behind closed doors and says nothing except "we need more fans at the park".

Cause he's a worthless piece of **** that couldn't coach a pee wee team.

Even though Fogg was rocked today, he and Wells are a big reason why he's going to be fired.

I'd say 7 torn labrums should have been a good enough reason to fire him last year. And rarly anything good happens after he has one of his "pep talks" 10 times a game with a pitcher.

It should've, but not with this outfit.

Wells and Fogg doing well, makes Williams looks bad. Which is a big no-no in his world. So Nardi is going to get what he deserves.

You mean like the 2 run bomb he gave up to Marty Cordova??
I was calling for his head last June because of reasons stated above.Too bad Lenny doesn't listen to the lemmings.Hey,we're just fans. We're not important.

Of course, that's not the only thing that makes Kenny look bad.

That's why they can't fire Manuel, not enough money in the budget for another manager.

They should tell us this, I'd go to more games if I knew my money was going towards buying out Franks' contract or whatever.

Nardi being ****-canned comes down to 2 things:

1.) The success of Wells and Fogg in Pittsburgh; and
2.) Labrum-mania

However, I do feel that firing Nardi at this point is done so in an attempt to not totally alienate the diehards that pay money every year for season tickets. Nardi should have been canned months ago. Firing Nardi now is not going to right the Titanic that has become the 2002 White Sox season. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining :D: .....

Well, other than Buerhle and maybe Jon Garland, you have to hope for rain! "Buerhle and maybe Garland and pray for rain..." doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it? He can't get Ritchie going, who might be a 20-game loser this year! Gonna give up a 5-spot to the Twinkies tomorrow in the third inning, Todd? Wright and Glover should have gotten it going a little by now but haven't. Foulke? He's got no confidence out there. Osuna and Ginter aren't ready for the big time. Howry isn't even good trade bait. Rocky Biddle? Love the name. So we have 1 dependable starter, no middle relief and a bullpen that makes me nervous! Team ERA is almost 5! So yeah, that's why Nardi is in trouble. Sox have been known for many years as a no-hit, good-pitch kind of team. But not this year.

I've been out in the wild for the past 4 days and without internet or newspaper access. Someone please fill me in - has Contreras been fired? Has something happened that makes his firing inevitable?

Over the weekend, the Daily Herald had a story speculating on his short future with the Sox. Dave Wills was on Nardi Watch during yesterday's post-game show, but nothing came of it. There is nothing in this morning's paper either.
