:tipcap:

Jason Varitek caught a record four no-hitters in his career, guiding Hideo Nomo (2001), Lowe (2002), Clay Buchholz (2007) and Jon Lester (2008) into history. He is the only player in history have played in the Little League World Series, the College World Series, the World Series, the Olympics and the World Baseball Classic! A class act on and off the field! He will be missed!!

Heathcliff Slocumb for Varitek and Lowe: one of the most lopsided trades in recent MLB history. A former Cub is traded for two future All Stars and WS players.

Well, I guess they deserved it after trading Jeff Bagwell for Larry Anderson.

The only catcher that many people who currently call themselves Red Sox fans have ever known.
