This just shows how desperate the Twinks are when they sign a guy who hasn't thrown more than 38 innings in a season since 2006.

I thought for sure he'd make it to March....

Also former Tiger Scott Sizemore hurt his knee, an audible "pop" according to those around him.... and I also hear Carlos Guillen tweaked his knee in Mariners camp.

Not a good day for former Tigers.

Last year Guillen pulled his hamstring just standing around 2nd base between pitches. No joke.

Clever and classy!

You know that's a common nickname for them, correct? But I bet in your rush to make sure everyone is politically correct you may have overlooked that.

Doctors are saying he's out for the season:

Another rough break for him, and I wouldn't be surprised if he hangs them up. However, he has fought back before. I couldn't see him getting more than a minor league invite though if he tries again after this contract.

Yeah, just heard on MLB network he needs Tommy John. Unfortunate news for him. He'd be roughly 28-29 if he decided to come back, so who knows what would be left of his arm after all of the injuries.

He'll still make $400k on the year, but he could have made a lot more playing ($850k and up to another $950k in incentives).

Sounds like he was making a good name for himself in the clubhouse. Maybe the Twins will try him out again next year.

It's extremely unfortunate for him personally and it's a shame we didn't get to see him live up to his potential. He was really something when he was healthy. At least he got money, though.

It's now being reported that Zumaya has a torn UCL. He will miss the entire 2012 season.

Thank you. God damn, settle down, if something truly offends you please just report it to the staff. These ****ing finger pointing posts are childish and pathetic.

Sorry to hear it. I loathed the dude when he was on the mound, but I wish him good health.

Agreed.

I would rather see the Twins finish below us in the AL Central with Morneau and Zumaya.

Although I had forgotten Zumaya signed with the Twins, I think of him as a Tiger.

Agreed. The dude threw like 120mph heat. Not a fastball but a flashball.
Also kind of a sentimental favorite because of the obvious facial resemblence to WS legend Cy Acosta.
