Carpenter has a good arm. Solid pickup for the Red Sox.

This Carpenter is about the equivalent of a bag of balls and warm tobacco spit.
AAA numbers: 45IP 6,15 ERA, 1.8 WHIP, 7.9 K/9
MLB numbers: 9.2IP 2.79ERA despite a 1.96 WHIP.
26 years old.
However if he learns to throw strikes.

Did Selig rule yet that the Cubs, Boston and Padres cannot make any more trades between themselves for the next three years?

After looking at Carpenters stats the Red Sox should have held out until the cub over included a case of hot dogs, a tray of buns, half box of mustard packets and a sleeve of Coke cups.

I saw him pitch during the crosstown series last year. He was hitting the upper 97-98 mph on the radar gun pretty regularly. He could make a solid bullpen pitcher to replace the injured Jenks. It isn't a king's ransom but it may end up being a solid arm.

Will most likely end up in AAA Pawtucket.
