That's nice to see, there was concern that the shoulder injury that shelved Jon for 2011 could have been a career-ender. Hope he makes it back, even if it is within the division. Can't bring myself to wish any ill on a key contributor from 2005.

What happened to Jon's shoulder? I had been wondering why nobody had signed him yet considering how thin the starting pitching free agents were this year. Injury could explain that. This could be a solid signing for the Tribe as a #5 starter if he is indeed healthy.

On July 11th, Garland underwent surgery on his right shoulder. The procedure consisted of clean up of the labrum and bursa and clean up of and reinforcement of the rotator cuff.

Sun-Times says it's now a signed deal for one year with an invite to spring training and a chance to make the big league club.

Sounds like the deal is guaranteed from a minor league standpoint.

Sounds like a car part getting fixed up.....

Good luck Jon. When your "A" game shows up, you're untouchable.

RHP Jon Garland no longer an option for #Indians. Was scheduled
for physical Monday, but didn't take it.

Garland is going to continue to rehab.

I just loved that when we faced him last year the "real" Jon Garland showed up. Lights out for 4 innings, explosion in the 5th. Up until 2005, he was so aggravating to watch. You knew he had it in him, but he couldn't do it until then.

Yeah, Jon really had a hard time staying away from the big inning prior to 2005. I admit, I was one of the ones calling for him to be traded because he was so frustrating. Glad I was wrong at least for a couple seasons.
