Looking to make the trip, I only stay at Marriott's due to work points. I see a few near Fenway. What's the best to stay at? Looking to be in a young area with Bars to go to before or after the game.

Given those options this is perfect.

I went last year for the Memorial Day series and bought tickets right when they went on sale...and then got 1st row monster seats directly from the Red Sox for the Monday game a couple days before I left. So don't worry too much if you don't get tickets as part of the initial on-sale. Like most events, sold out doesn't mean there are no tickets left.

I will be there on July 19 for my birthday :gulp: those ticket prices...when demand exceeds supply I reckon.....

Thanks for posting, I would like to take a trip to Boston with the family in July. I have tried to buy White Sox tix in Boston online before only to get shutout and having to buy scalper tix. Are there any secrets or tips anyone has for increasing your chances in the Bosox ticketing system? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

For those going, whatever you do, dont stay at the Midtown Hotel. It was by far the biggest roach motel I have ever stayed in.

Planning on making the trip to Fenway for the first time this year. Can't get all the details figured out by tomorrow. What are the odds of getting good seats after the initial sale tomorrow?

I would bet it depends on how much you want to pay

It has been like that forever....

There is a real nice hotel near the ballpark and it is a major footnote in White Sox history... The Buckminster the hotel website mentions what happened.

They did last year - all the teams do except the Yankees who stay here

I ended buying Moday through Weds tix in Boston, should be a great road trip. There is an excellent website available if you want to view your seat specific location at Fenway:

Really a great tool for an old park with its quirks and obstructions etc.

Finally got the OK from work to take off to make my first trip to Fenway. I am going to go to the Thursday game and was looking for some tips on tickets. The Red Sox only have SRO left.

I don't want to pay an arm and a leg on Stub Hub for the best tickets in the house, but would like to enjoy what will be my first trip to Fenway Park. Anywhere I should avoid sitting? Is there any restricted area tickets where I couldn't see the whole stadium (ie White Sox UD tickets).

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing is restricted, other than the Monster. Also, a fun trick to so is buy is SRO and when you get in go to customer service and ask for a seat upgrade, and sometimes they'll upgrade you for free to a comparable seat.

The bleachers and LF/RF Grandstands are pretty meh. If you're only going to one game, drop the cash and get good seats.
