- Sox 2000 season
- Jerry Manuel winning a coach of the year award (almost laughable)
- any Ritchie start in which less than 3 runs were allowed
- Valentin batting over .250
- Frank's 4-5 vs Royals on Wed.
- the Marte trade being successful

i've been saying this for over 2 years and have been ridiculed by most folks for it. it was a joke (the award) at the time and it's about time everyone else sees it now.

This I didn't know, but marte has been great for us(excluding the yesterdays Royals game) I don't know why some people this this was a bad trade. It may have looked bad at the time, but has proven he a an above average pitcher, a left at that

Just because he sucks this year doesn't mean you should ignore all the other previous years. Wait doesnt him getting any clutch hits a fluke mean he would get clutch hits.... Ah crap now I'm just confused, I gotta go lay down.

the marte deal was a fluke in that it worked out for us. williams didn't know what he was doing. i didnt know damaso marte from anyone before the season but from his first appearance to his latest one, i have loved the guy. he's awesome. that slider is killer. he's a really good situational lefty and SOMETIMES closer. but nobody is real good at being a sometimes-closer. you gotta pick a closer and stick with it. but in conclusion, this was a good trade and i really like marte.

as most of the people here, I don't see any problem with Marte, I think he's pretty good, on the other hand, I think JM winning the manager of the year award in 2000 was just a ***, why did he win it other than the sox had a great record? :?:

maybe that was before the Sox forgot how to win......
