Tigers considering Johnny Damon & Juan Pierre with thinking of
adding table setters and letting Boesch and Young make up for
VMarts RBI's

Who was it again that said JP wouldn't get a ML offer? I'll STILL take that bet.

That said, a line-up of:

Pierre LF
Jackson CF
Young DH
Cabrera 1B
Peralta SS
Avilia C
Boesch RF
Raburn/Inge/Kelly 3B
Santiago/Raburn 2B

does not exactly ignite fear in me. As I have said before...this division is wiiiideee open.

They will get Damon.

I'm guessing that Dombrowski is throwing JP's name out there in case Bora$s gets crazy with his demands for Damon (in other words, does what he normally does).

If the Tigers really do get Juan I don't think there's anyway he's still leading off for them. I would suspect he'd be hitting 9th.

Either way, still an ugly line-up.

Certainly not as strong without VMart, but other than shortstop and maybe 2B, based on last year's performance, the Tigers line-up is stronger than the Sox line-up at every other position. Hopefully we get some big rebound seasons.
