St. Louis at Miami as the opener on Wednesday.

Detroit/Boston and Miami/Cincy afternoon games on Thursday.

Then Giants at DBacks and Pujols' debut at home to the Royals on the Friday night.

Color me already irrationally excited.

Awesome. Means I can watch the Sox and still watch a bunch of other games that day. Pretty sure DTV will have their usual Extra Innings preview.

Also means a Hawk-free telecast.

Opening day should be in Cincinnati, another tradition that was thrown under the bus in the quest for more revenue.

No shock that they are going with Detroit-Boston. ESPN will milk the Bobby Valentine story to death.

You should trade him to me now before the Sox destroy his confidence and you get nothing for him.

I wonder if ESPN's producers have started compiling info for the piece on Ventura and Ryan dropping the gloves on the mound and Robin's subsequent noogie that you just know is going to be a part of the broadcast.

Wait... St. Louis at Miami is a one-game series? And Miami flys out to Cincy the next day?

Strange...

I don't know, this must be the new thing they do with new stadiums, Washington did the same thing when they opened up Nationals Park, 1-game series against the Braves then on the road to Philadelphia.

The Marlins begged for it - and it was granted.

Here is the weird part - ESPN likes to have the defending champ in that first game and as it turns out it will be St. Louis - but when the schedule was announced the Cards didn't even look like a playoff game.

Could you imagine the hype of this game if Pujols would have signed with the Marlins? :o:

I don't know if you're implying Buehrle.

But if you are...Well, I would be very surprised if Ozzie opts for him over one of the best starters in the NL.

The clip will be shown zero times, per Nolan Ryan's statement weeks ago.

Remember that Ozzie's the guy that broke Buehrle's streak for no good reason to give Contreras the nod in 2007. Otherwise, Buehrle would have started 10 straight Opening Days for the Sox ('02-'11).

On the Rangers scoreboard or on ESPN? I bet we see it on the latter.

Most of the Sunday Night Baseball games through mid-July have been announced: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7475746/espn-announces-lineup-sunday-night-baseball-games?eleven=twelve

Between the beginning of the season and July 15, the Rangers and Yankees will have the most appearances on Sunday Night Baseball, with three apiece. The only teams from last year's postseason to not have a scheduled appearance yet are the Tigers, Diamondbacks and Brewers, although with plenty of TBDs on there, I'm sure Detroit and Milwaukee will make it on there. Not too sure about Arizona, though.

From that link:

"ESPN also will broadcast a game of the week each Saturday during the regular season."

I guess ESPN's taking the Saturday night game from MLBN? Fine, I guess. MLBN just took a local feed--when I'm watching a neutral game I usually prefer a neutral commentating team.

Who knows, maybe each will have their own Saturday night game.

I hope MLBN keeps the Tuesday East/West coast doubleheaders, day games and Thursday/Friday nighters, though.

EDIT: Unless they're talking about radio. In which case, ESPN Radio already has a Saturday game every week anyway.
