The Red Sox demanded a new stadium from Ft.Myers and got it....

There is NOTHING wrong with the old ballpark.

How very ironic of the Sawx:dtroll:

Yup - oldest MLB park and newest spring training park

The only flaw with the old park is that it was 2 1/2 miles away from the practice fields and to get there meant traveling through some not so nice areas.

Don't forget that there is another nice ballpark in Ft. Myers, Hammond Stadium where the Twins play their ST games.

The arms race for new spring training facilities is simply amazing. I thought Camelback Ranch was the ultimate in spring training complexes until I went to the new Rockies/Diamondbacks facility at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick last year. It cost $100 million to build, and with 11,000 seats, its larger than some AAA parks. You just know that the new Cubs park in Mesa, when completed, will be no urinal.

I'm surprised they didn't put up a Citgo sign beyond left field, too.

Well they have one in Portland, Maine

However AT Fenway the 2 official gas companies are Gulf and Hess - Citgo doesn't pay the Red Sox.
