This is not a surprise. He just has too much going on in his life right now.

Is he nuts? There's an opening on the North Side! This is a rare opportunity to work with a rapidly up and coming franchise get to it's first World Series title since the wheel was invented! That would make him a shoe-in for the HOF!

I'm kinda glad as even though he's a good coach, I don't want every Red Sox cast-off and/or former player on the team. Someone said it perfectly as they didn't want to see the Cubs become the 'Red Sox West.'

I don't know why anyone with a TV analyst position open to him would ever manage. The pay is great, the hours are light and there is very little pressure.

You have to wear a shirt and tie while working in TV. That's enough for me to take the Skipper job.

Ha, yeah, you guys already have the self-inflated sense of worth, but without the actual championships.

Hmmm, that's true. Maybe a few championships with cast-offs isn't so bad?

Good for him. Living in that pressure cooker in Boston has to grind you down.
