.....with RISP. We had nobody out and the sacks packed in the fourth and got two Ks and a finally pop-out from Ray. Then in the 8th we had a runner on third and C Lee struck out. Those are the most notable. We ended the 6th with runners at the corners after Royce had knocked home two. Other than Jose, who has pretty good clutch numbers, what kind of numbers do we have with RISP? Individuals and as a team. They gotta be pretty bad, especially recently. Come on statheads do your thing.....

Take a look here. (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teamstats?team=chw&bat=OPS&order=true&season=2&split=39&year=2002)

For some context, here are our AL rankings w/RISP:

AVG - 2nd (1st - Angels .301)
OBP - 5th (1st - Mariners .389)
SLG - 2nd (1st - Yankees .498)
Runs - 4th (1st - Angels 403)
AB - 7th (1st - Angels 901)

We actually don't do badly w/RISP but as the AB ranking shows, we don't get RISP often enough.

I guess we arent that bad with RISP. how about with RISP in a clutch situation. Jose seems to be the only one with consistent clutch hits. that has been a problem all season. timely hits.

Those numbers could possibly be inflated by our huge offensive output in April when we were putting up 10-15 runs on a regular basis. It would be interesting to see what the stats would be since May 15th. I'd bet we'd be in the cellar with the RISP stat as well as other offensive stats.

That's what i was thinking. I'll bet since mid-May we have horrible RISP numbers. Being in the top five in every categpry seems reallt misleading.
