Gotta be between 1979 and 1981...maybe '79?

Over/under on how many posts it takes before someone complains about Nipsey Russell confusing the Sox with the Cubs?

Is that Alan Kalter from Letterman as the announcer? What jersey is man number three wearing and wouldn't the fact that Tony is the only guy NOT wearing a uniform be somewhat suspicious?

That was entertaining, Nipsey "the ratfinks that produced this show, put this guy in a business suit and the other two guys in baseball uniforms"

Great find, hi im skot!

I am thinking it is 1980. They mentioned that Bill Veeck was the guy who hired him and he didn't own the team anymore by '81 and La Russa wasn't hired until midway through the 1979 season.

I can tell you exactly when the show was taped - August 13, 1980

I have mentioned before that I worked for NBC several summers ( we were called vacation relief ) - I was hired to do baseball on the road, but 3 days a week I had to work at 30 Rock for game shows and WNBC-TV news.

The show was taped in Studio 6-A and was cancelled in 1981 to make room for David Letterman's morning show which was then moved to 12:30 AM.

Alan Kalter was indeed the announcer.

They would tape 5 shows every Wednesday and started in May.
